The DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is a compact and powerful quadrotor drone with an integrated, gimbal-stabilized 4K/60 fps camera. It’s the update to the Phantom 4 Pro. Key features include:
- 3-axis gimbal-stabilized 4K/60 fps camera
- 45 mph max speed in Sport Mode
- 30-minute flight time
- Updated wireless transmission system & reduced prop noise
What’s New? The biggest changes for the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 are an upgrade in the wireless technology to DJI’s OcuSync transmission technology and a new propeller design that reduces flight noise by up to 4dB or 60%. Updates to OcuSync technology allow for direct wireless connection to DJI goggles and a higher resolution 1080p live view. Front and rear obstacle detection has also been extended from 10m to 30m.Camera and battery specs stay exactly the same.
Three-Axis Gimbal-Stabilized 4K Camera. The DJI Phantom 4 Pro version 2 is a lightweight quadcopter that can shoot H.264 4K video at 60p, and H.265 4K, DCI 4K (4096 × 2160), and UHD 4K (3840 × 2160) video at 30p. While shooting in 1080p, this drone is capable of extending that up to 120 fps at 80 Mbps. Its photo mode offers the choice of DNG raw or JPEG images and burst shooting at up to 14 fps. The camera’s 20MP 1-inch CMOS sensor; fast mechanical and electronic shutters; and super-smooth, 3-axis stabilized gimbal ensure maximum sharpness for photo and video capture alike.
Control Options. The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 gives you a variety of smartphone- or tablet-based drone-control options. In Draw Mode, you simply draw your desired route on screen and the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 will follow it at a locked altitude. In ActiveTrack Mode, you can program the drone to track an object while keeping it in frame. TapFly Mode lets you tap anywhere on the screen to smoothly change direction, all while automatically avoiding obstacles. In Return to Home Mode, the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 will adjust its own flight path to use the best, most obstacle-free route home. Finally, you can use Gesture Mode to take hands-free selfies.
Flight Modes. The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 includes three different flight modes, one of which is bound to suit your production’s requirements. Sport Mode (S) boosts the drone’s speed to 45 mph and substantially raises its agility. Position Mode (P) activates TapFly, Active Track, obstacle-sensing, and positioning features for intelligent navigation. Altitude Mode (A) disables satellite stabilization and holds the drone steady, making it perfect for experienced pilots who want to capture smoother footage. The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0’s vision and infrared sensing systems are both activated in all three modes to give you a safer flight.
Thirty-Minute Maximum Flight Time. DJI reports that in lab tests with ideal conditions (read: not the places you’ll likely be using it), this drone has a thirty-minute maximum flight time. A more realistic average is probably around twenty minutes.
Drone Control From 4.3 Miles. The included Phantom 4 Remote Controller simultaneously sends control signals and receives video-transmission signals at up to 4.3 miles with an ideal line of sight. This controller lets you choose between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequencies so that you can avoid interference and eliminate image lag. Again, DJI reports this as the maximum distance with ideal line-of-sight conditions, so your literal mileage may vary.
