The Bose L1 Model 1S with Single B2 Bass Module is a portable line array that is designed to serve as a PA and monitoring system for solo musicians and public speakers for audiences of up to 300 people.
Intended to be clean, compact, and not cluttered with connections, the L1 Model 1S system is equipped with a single line-level analog input via a 1/4″ TRS jack. The analog line-level input has a trim control and a signal and clip LED. The input can be used to connect line-level instruments such as keyboards, or other line-level audio sources such as MP3 players or mixers for connecting microphones.
The L1 Model 1S system also includes a ToneMatch port for adding the optional T1 ToneMatch audio engine (available separately). The T1 ToneMatch adds mic inputs, additional line inputs, plus you can also use the ToneMatch effects engine to fine-tune your sound with Bose’s proprietary tone-shaping tools.
The vertical configuration of the system’s small, closely spaced drivers allows the L1 Model 1S system to deliver 180 degrees of horizontal sound coverage, yet at the same time only produces a small amount of vertical sound. This reduces unwanted reverberation and produces consistent tonal balance as the sound spreads more evenly across the stage and into the audience. Also, the volume level drops off less over distance than with a conventional speaker.
The L1 Model 1S upper array, the B2 Bass Module, and the power stand are designed to connect quickly and easily and do not require speaker stands. All components fit into the included carry bags for storage and transport. The included B2 bass module is equipped with high-output, high-excursion drivers that are designed to produce deep, strong bass from a small enclosure.
Bose L1 Model 1S Cylindrical Radiator Loudspeaker Array
The Bose L1 Model 1S Cylindrical Radiator Loudspeaker Array provides 180 x 10° nominal dispersion and consistent front-to-back coverage well suited for production and reproduction of live music, music playback, speeches, and A/V sound reproduction.
Bose L1 Model 1S Power Stand (120V)
The 120V Bose L1 Model 1S Power Stand is the central hub for the L1 Model 1S portable line array system. The power stand provides the connectors for power, bass module output, 1/4″ analog input, power & signal indicators, and the ToneMatch port for the optional T1 ToneMatch audio engine, as well as the top array and bottom extension.
Bose B2 Bass Module
The Bose B2 Bass Module contains two 10-inch woofers and is the option that delivers the most low-frequency output for L1 system users. The B2 is designed for L1 users who need more powerful bass for larger audiences.
A switch on the rear panel offers the flexibility of three output levels, depending on the application at hand. The L1 system senses the setting chosen on the B2 and equalizes the signal being sent for optimized speaker performance. The normal setting is ideal for bass guitar, or when miking a kick drum. A higher setting is designed for DJ and music playback applications. The lower setting works well for acoustic guitar and vocals.
Interlocking end caps allow two B2 bass modules to be stacked on top of one another. An included slipcover protects the module from dings and scratches during transport.
